JobSyntax throws down gauntlet - challenges industry to review-o-rama

Zoe

If you are a regular reader, you may have noticed a decidedly cranky tone from ye old Jobgals when it comes to some of the blogworthy stories that have been making their way into the world of recruiting and job search (questionnaires, spam and spam, job boards, video resumes, etc).

While we are striving to be intellectually critical of the employment industry, we by no means want to appear as Negative Nellies.  Rather we hope to provide a balanced view of the pros and cons of new tactics, strategies and tools used by both job seekers and employers; especially as they related to social marketing.  Unfortunately, it seems that there have been few new offerings as of late that showcase innovative methods of breaking the code between job seekers and employers.  Hence, we’re bored.

So here’s where you can help us (and potentially we can help you :)) restore our chipper side.  We’re putting out a challenge to the industry to show us your best tools be they job boards, social networking sites, organizational software for both employers and job seekers, etc.  We will review your offering with live trials on our blog highlighting both positive and negative (if there are any) features.  Our reviews will incorporate screen shots, screencasts and other decidedly Web 2.0-like features.

We don’t have any hard criteria on what can/cannot be submitted, but here are a few guidelines:

  1. Your product/application/tool should be new, but you can also submit a new feature of an older application
  2. It must be related to the employment industry; either a tool for job seekers or employers or both
  3. Ideally it will have some relationship to social media principles

If you are game, contact us.  We’re ready to rumble.
