job search sucks - simply hired doesn't

Joel found this awesome video by SimplyHired chronicling the typical pitfalls of a terrible job search; submitting your resume, negotiating an offer etc.  It's really very funny and it made me snarf my morning tea.  I mean if I were having a tough time with other job boards, this would totally make me check out their site.

The interesting thing is that other then their obvious job aggregation service, they don't necessarily help job seekers address some of the common pitfalls faced during a job search which they highlight in their video (though they do offer some light advice on their blog, the actual service only goes so far).

It's great to have a service that's a "one stop shopping" experience, so to speak, in terms of looking for and submitting your resume against positions.  At the same time, that doesn't ensure that you aren't going to enter a black hole when you submit your resume or be subject to the many other frustrations job seekers often find themselves subject to when applying to companies.

Ultimately, it's up to the company to adhere to a strong candidate bill of rights and the candidate to be prepared both during their job search and interview process in order for both parties to feel that they have benefitted in some way from the interaction.

SimplyHired's final taglines in the video are "job search sucks", "we can help", and "we don't suck".  While I think that is clever marketing in terms of sending a hip message and playing off the fact that yes, job searches do indeed suck, what else are they offering outside of an aggregated search?
